BLACKSMITHING EXPERIENCE DAYS LED
BY A PROFESSIONAL BLACKSMITH

Learn the art of blacksmithing in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Whether you're testing the water, taking your first steps into a rewarding career or just having a bit of fun, I can take you through the fundamentals of blacksmithing, show you them in action and guide you through creating an item of your very own that you can treasure forever. I help budding blacksmiths across the country, please get in touch to discuss. In my fully equipped forge in Grassington, Skipton I can teach you the basics, from forging and punching techniques to fire welding, hot cutting or even bladesmithing.

Classes are for a maximum of 7 people, under 16 years old accompanied by an adult. You will forge something with your own hands, from fire pokers and bottle openers to steel roses, Damascus kitchen knives, swords or even something bespoke should you have an idea of your own. You are required to wear sturdy boots, (preferably safety boots), and clothing you don't mind getting dirty (preferably long sleeves), all other safety equipment, as well as tools and materials are provided. Tea, coffee and bottled water is also provided, it is recommended to bring a packed lunch with you as food is not included.

Classes run 5 days a week including weekends but due to high demand the earliest available dates are now from May 2027 onwards. We apologise for the wait times and appreciate your patience. We are committed to maintaining small class sizes to ensure every participant gets the best possible hands-on instruction, which means the calendar fills up very quickly.
